Bid management for European developer
Bid writing that resulted in the developer won the seabed lease auction.
The Backdrop
The client, an established wind developer with UK as a key market, targeted the seabed lease auction under Scotwind as their next strategic must win battle for continued UK growth.
The ask from our client
In order to deliver a winning value proposition for the auction, the client needed to secure overall coherency in the final bid and establish a common thread among the many different bid contributors. With fierce competition in the UK offshore wind market the client also needed to deliver a very strong local supply chain plan especially delivering a clear plan for new local job creation and industrial innovation concepts.
Green Ducklings supported the client to achieve this acting both as overall project advisor and with in-depth involvement in the different workstreams throughout the bid process. Within the supply chain development strategy, a key focus area was developing new innovative installation concepts that would help differentiate the bid while accommodating the existing ports and marine infrastructure - and enable local jobs creation.
A critical focus area throughout the project was bridging the many different stakeholders from very technical specialists in the development, installation and construction planning to the commercial/sales, supply chain and political stakeholders.
The outcome
The client won the bid! And with the project also matured their own bid management process gaining a structured and more collaborative approach to bid management and local supply chain assessments going forward.
