Invitation to join a workshop on the future of offshore wind – an outlook for the industry

On 1-12 November, the UK will host the UN’s 26th version of COP in Glasgow. COP26 will serve as an arena for industry and government in discussions on how best to achieve the ambitious goal of reaching NetZero emissions.

For the UK, the offshore wind sector takes a prime position as a means to reduce the nation’s emissions level. As part of the UK’s “Race to Zero” strategy the Prime Minister’s office has published a 10 Point-Plan, which support further deployment of offshore wind and sets an ambitious target of 40GW by 2030.

By allocating £160m for development of port infrastructure, servicing as a backbone for the British wind industry and a stronger local supply chain, the 10 Point-Plan cements UK’s position as the biggest wind market in Europe – today and tomorrow

Together with the strategic consultancy, Green Ducklings, the British Embassy in Copenhagen would like to invite you to a workshop addressing five major tendencies in the offshore wind sector. During the workshop, we aim to bring the political ambitions down to an industry level, focusing on specific opportunities and operating models for companies in the market for offshore wind.

With this session, we wish to bring to you the latest insights on the UK’s “Race to Zero” ambitions. These are be put into a context of the offshore wind sector undergoing transformation to rapidly scale activities.
